Getting Started
Your first visit begins with a conversation about your health history, symptoms, lifestyle, and goals. Your chiropractor will perform a thorough examination to evaluate your condition and determine the cause of your pain. If appropriate, we’ll discuss a personalized treatment plan and may begin care during the same visit.
Please bring:
- A valid photo ID
- Your insurance card (if applicable)
- Any recent X-rays, MRIs, or medical records related to your condition
- A list of any medications you’re currently taking
Most initial appointments take approximately 45–60 minutes, allowing time for your consultation, examination, and any recommended treatment.
Most patients do not need a referral to receive chiropractic care. However, some insurance plans may require one. Our staff can help verify your benefits before your appointment.
Chiropractic Care
Our chiropractors commonly help patients experiencing:
- Back pain
- Neck pain
- Sciatica
- Headaches
- Herniated or bulging discs
- Joint pain
- Sports injuries
- Auto accident injuries
- Muscle tension
- Pregnancy-related discomfort
Treatment recommendations are always based on your individual condition and examination findings.
Chiropractic care is widely used for musculoskeletal conditions and is considered safe for most patients when performed by a licensed chiropractor. Before beginning treatment, we’ll review your medical history and perform a thorough evaluation to determine whether chiropractic care is appropriate for your needs.
Most patients experience little to no discomfort during an adjustment. Some people notice mild soreness afterward, similar to what you might feel after exercise, but this typically resolves within a day or two.
The number of visits depends on several factors, including your condition, its severity, how long you’ve been experiencing symptoms, and your treatment goals. Your chiropractor will explain your personalized care plan after your evaluation.
No. Your treatment plan is based on your condition and goals. Some patients choose to continue periodic wellness visits after their symptoms improve, while others return only if new problems develop. The decision is always yours.

Yes. Inner Health Chiropractic accepts many major insurance plans, including Medicare, Medicaid, UnitedHealthcare, Anthem, Medical Mutual, GEHA, and many others. See a full list of insurance we accept here. If you’re unsure about your coverage, our staff can verify your benefits before your visit.
Absolutely. We’ll gladly contact your insurance provider and explain your chiropractic benefits, including any copays, deductibles, or visit limits before treatment begins whenever possible.
We offer affordable self-pay options for patients without insurance. Our team will discuss pricing and treatment recommendations so you can make an informed decision about your care.
Treatment Questions
Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move easily. Depending on your condition, you may be asked to perform simple movements during your examination.
In many cases, yes. If it’s appropriate after your examination, your chiropractor may begin treatment during your initial appointment. Some conditions may require additional evaluation before treatment begins.
If medically necessary, your chiropractor may recommend X-rays to better understand your condition. Not every patient requires imaging, and recommendations are made on an individual basis.
In addition to relieving current symptoms, chiropractic care may help improve mobility, posture, and overall spinal function. Your chiropractor may also recommend exercises and lifestyle changes to help reduce the risk of future problems.
What Conditions Can Chiropractic Care Help Treat?
Many patients with sciatica benefit from chiropractic care that focuses on improving spinal movement and reducing pressure on irritated nerves. Your chiropractor will determine whether conservative care is appropriate for your condition.
Some headaches, particularly tension headaches and headaches originating from the neck, may improve with chiropractic care. A thorough evaluation helps determine whether your headaches may be related to musculoskeletal issues.
Yes. Many patients seek chiropractic care after auto accidents for conditions such as whiplash, neck pain, back pain, and muscle injuries. Early evaluation can help identify injuries that may not be immediately noticeable.
Many women seek chiropractic care during pregnancy to help manage back pain, pelvic discomfort, and other musculoskeletal changes. Our chiropractors will determine whether treatment is appropriate based on your stage of pregnancy and overall health.
