Physical Therapy for Back & Spine related injuries
After an injury, recovery is very important to heal correctly and to keep your body healthy. Physical therapy can help a person who is recovering in various ways. Along with non-invasive exercises, our doctors have many treatments available to better fit the unique needs of patients. Amongst these treatments is decompression therapy which reduces spinal pressure and pain.
Decompression therapy uses mechanical traction to realign spinal discs. Similarly, mechanical traction therapy decompresses the spine along the back and the neck. This reduces pressure and gives more space for your nerves.
Our doctors may also use other methods such as therapeutic ultrasound, aqua med, and electric stimulation. Therapeutic ultrasound is used to help tight muscles become more flexible. This can help if your therapist has prepared some exercises that call for a range of motion. Electric stimulation therapy deals with electrodes attached to the body. The electrodes contract muscles to stop muscle spasming and increase muscle strength. Aqua med is a series of tools that are used for massage therapy using water.
With so many resources, our therapists at Inner Health Chiropractic are more than equipped to aid your recovery process. Contact our office to get in touch with a therapist and set up a regimen that will benefit you.
